Upcoming book review: The Unemployed Millionaire

unemployedmillionaire

I am currently reading “The Unemployed Millionaire” by Matt Morris. I had found this book about 2 weeks back at my local Chapters. It reminded me of the 4-hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss.

So far I am on chapter 4 of this book and look forward to reading more of it when I get home. The intro to this book took me by storm when it took into account the calculations regarding the amount time that you give up by working for someone else where you do not have the freedom to do what you truly desire.

Right now I’m at a part of the book where I’m supposed to write down 100 things that I want to do with my life. That’s going to be one kick-ass list. I will share that list with all of you. Hopefully that will give you all something to think about as well.

Getting Past Your Beliefs

It may be strange to find a post about your beliefs on a blog about getting rich but it’s often your beliefs that hold you back from believing that you can do something.

I’m the type of person that knows that I cannot spend my entire life working for someone else. But I’ve been afraid to put that belief into action. My belief is that I’ll always be someone with dreams and never be a person who actually achieves them. Essentially that’s a self-defeating behaviour.

Think about it, everytime you decide you are going to do something you find a reason to be the way you’ve always been – never making headway on your dreams. It may not be a concious effort, but you are going to have to start realizing how these beliefs are holding you back.

From now on I’m not going to allow myself to feel as if I’ll always be a dreamer and not an achiever. I know I have the potential to tap in to making a ton of money, but I have to believe myself. Just remember that successful people have failed more then unsuccessful people. It means they were not afaid to try and achieve their dreams.

As much as one may love there job and that it may be great it’s a great disservice to yourself to give away 40 years of your life to another company and not to yourself. If you can make money for yourself – you are in control. But I’m not one of those people who want to open a retail store. I want to be an online entrepreneur and millionaire.
